Contact UsCaring for Your Crown
After having a CEREC crown placed, our goal is for you to be able to eat, speak, and smile with ease once again. Same-day crowns are designed to look and function exactly like your natural tooth so you don’t have to take extra precaution when cleaning them. You can brush and floss around your crown and also rinse with a fluoridated mouthwash just as you normally would. If you know you have a tendency to grind your teeth at night, wearing a custom nightguard while you sleep can eliminate unnecessary damage to your crown.
Dental Crowns FAQ
What is the procedure for a same-day tooth crown?
Normally, getting a dental crown would require two or more visits to the dentist. Thanks to our state-of-the-art CEREC® technology, we can complete the entire procedure in just one.
First we take a digital impression of the tooth. The CEREC software then takes this impression to make a virtual model of your restoration. This custom design is sent to the milling machine in our office, which will manufacture your dental crown out of a ceramic block while you relax. Lastly, we’ll place the restoration, make sure it fits properly, and send you on your way. That’s it! No goopy, uncomfortable impression trays, waiting for an off-site lab, or need to wear a temporary dental crown.
Why would I need a dental crown?
Dental crowns are a versatile restorative treatment. These are some of the most common reasons why you may need one:
- To restore a cracked, broken, or worn down tooth
- To cover a misshaped or discolored tooth
- To support a tooth after root canal therapy
- To complete the dental implant procedure
- To anchor a dental bridge
- To replace a large filling
How much do dental crowns cost?
The cost of a dental crown varies based on multiple factors, including what it is being used for and what material is being used. In order to provide you with an accurate cost estimate, we’d like to see you in person to go over your unique case and dental needs. Peak Dentistry also offers financing options to help you spread any treatment costs across more affordable payments.
