Contact UsThe Root Canal Procedure
Once we decide that a root canal is the right option for your smile, we’ll thoroughly numb the area around your tooth using a topical anesthetic. We’ll also administer any necessary sedation before proceeding. Then, we’ll make a small entry point in the top chewing surface of your tooth. Through the entry point, we’ll remove any damaged pulp and disinfect the area. Once your tooth is completely cleaned out, we’ll fill in the space left behind with a material called gutta-percha to prevent any future infections and use composite resin to close the entry point. If needed, we’ll top your tooth with a dental crown for additional strength and protection.
